Club Legends

Notable players in the 40`s and 50`s were Ken Newall, Alf Tiffany, Jas Harrison, Frank Moon and Herbert Holmes. The latter still holds the club record of 87 wickets in a season.

The bowling averages of the 60`s were dominated by Mick Parkinson whilst the batting honours shared between Len and Roger Tiffany and Mick Parkinson. Chairman for this decade was John Verity, with Tony Curtis as captain. Social committee members included such illustrious names as Bill Hodgson and Philip Crabtree.

In the 70`s and early 80`s Mike Curtis, John Winterburn, Brian Hewson and Tim Harrison were the dominant names, with Gordon Mitchell taking over the reins as both Captain and Chairman.

In the late 80`s and 90`s, until the club joined the league in 1998, the batting averages were dominated by Richard and Andrew Patchett, the bowling by Andrew Pickersgill and Richard Phillipson and all-rounder Ian Parkinson. Captain for much of this time was ex-Bradford League player Trevor Priestley, Ding City import Brian Bean was spinning far more yarns in the changing rooms than he ever spun with the ball.
